FYI: I switched from using unix sockets to inet sockets, same problem.
MD 2.68 just dies silently without a message.
Multiplexor seems to be running, but the listening socket just disappeared.

I switched back to MD 2.67 and keep monitoring the system.
I am not quite sure, could this be a bug in 2.68 ?
