Hello,
I just installed MIMEDefang 2.68 (and later 2.70) on a test environment
running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 Tikanga on x86_64. Both of them
resulted in non-functional installations, with mail logs showing the
following kind of strange error messages:
Jul 2 14:02:52 roskakoe mimedefang-multiplexor[2313]: Slave 4 stderr:
panic: top_env
Jul 2 14:02:52 roskakoe mimedefang-multiplexor[2313]: Slave 4 died
prematurely -- check your filter rules
I tracked the problem down to md_syslog() calls in filter_end().
The problem was solved simply by:
yum install perl-Unix-Syslog
I guess that package should be included inside the mimedefang.spec file
dependencies. Hope this helps.
