Mina Thread Pools

Hi,

I'm in the process of upgrading an application from the traditional blocking 
1-thread-per client model to NIO using Mina.

1. Why did you choose to implement your own thread pool for Mina rather than 
use existing packages?

2. I already have shared thread pools in my application and I'd like to have 
Mina use those. Other than rewriting the thread pool filters, is there an 
easy way to "plug" my existing thread pools into Mina?
