Indeed - but I would contend that most western countries - even the USA already have had a healthy dash od socialism already: health and safety at work, maternity leave/ pay, legislation on working hours and practices to mane a few. It just that in the US the dominant ideology is ruled by the right who consider all pathways to making more money and gaining more power have to be coached in terms which provide them with the rhetoric which characterises all inevitable impediments to their own aims as political movements characterised in their own image: "human right" conforms to "liberty".
