Life is a beautiful accident. Once here, using the consciousness granted us by evolution, it is our purpose to survive. Modern culture and technology has made this remarkably easy by historical standards so I would agree with Slip that our purpose has become happiness. How one goes about achieving this illusive state of mind is the true question we'd all love to know. I personally believe that to maintain happiness conflict and challenges are necessary. Avoiding these aspects of living don't bring happiness; they bring stagnation and dullness. Only through conquering adversity can true happiness be achieved. I'm working on it.
