I think I might have caught whiff of a weird one -- any help appreciated. It looks like topic titles are changing for email subscribers but not on the web-based discussion. This is certainly true for Gmail email accounts.
For example this thread about control is a single thread on the website: http://groups.google.co.uk/group/Minds-Eye/browse_thread/thread/9c63f7373bb520a9/b0b3d31034d1fe8f However, via Gmail it split into a new thread on the 25th (when Fran's post pushed it over the 99 email limit in a Gmail email thread). At this point Deripsni's post changed its subject line to "[Mind's Eye] Re: Are you in control?". I think this is what usually happens, but if anyone can confirm that would be helpful. In other words, I think this subject change is okay. However, it then became another (third) new thread with a subject of "[Mind's Eye] Re: The control issue?". My suspicion was that Deripsni had done this manually, but they insist they haven't done so. I also thought that the web-based discussion shows you when a topic's title is changed, but I can see no evidence of this on this occasion. Next, Slip started a new (forth!) thread titled "The Control Issue". Not ideal, but at least it's pretty clear what happened for this one. Has anyone else spotted this oddness?
