Let me give you my insight as a man who has long sufferd with anger
insues.

When I was around the age of 20 or so and after many years of my anger
getting me into all sorts of situations I decided one day to simply
not be that kind of man anymore.  How I achived this is simple on
paper but really quite hard in practice.

Start to live as the being you want to become, try to perform those
actions that you equate with the kind of being you want to be, and
after a while you'll notice that the trying has come to an end and
indeed you have effected the change you wished to.
