I am going to give this a shot: Throwing a child into a volcano is bad relative to that child but good relative to the rest of the community which is saved from the anger of the volcano god.
The flourishing of humanity is good for humans, but bad relative to the environment. "Good" begs the question: For whom (or what)? Same thing for "Bad" Another issue: in Iranian culture, you mourn the dead for 40 days. A good person does this.
