For ‘getting back to your own life’, this is a quick hard slam and one that needs the temperance of the additional philosophical praxis for which you now search. All in due time one would posit. I was late in life before ‘seriously’ beginning a study of philosophy too. Simple phrases take on new meaning such as ‘Patience is a virtue.’ … along with ‘The mind will think anything.’, and my current bumper sticker “Don’t believe everything you think.” However, "Know thyself." appears to be the entry albeit from a point of pure humility admitting knowing nothing.
