This is an excellent question, and one that I have thought about a bit. Just to take a stab at it, I would say that the greatest evil is the will to disrupt or destroy anything that is good in the world. See someone kind and loving? See if you can turn them into a cruel ba***rd, or else just kill him. See a society that is ticking along with happy people? Send in the thundering hoard to rape, pillage and plunder! Is there a society that values truth, beauty, love and grace, and values things only so far as they are means to those ends? Send in the marketing agents, hook them up with televisions, and turn them into materialist fools. Is there a religion that teaches its followers to be kind to all, to strive to develop virtues, to consider work in service to mankind to be the highest form of worship, and to never speak ill of others? Jail them, torture them, kill them, take away their lively hoods, and tell the people lies about them. http://bahai.us/Iran-trial-update-01-20-10
