Those are good observations, Amanda, thanks for the offering. It has been interesting to see what can be gleaned from this short snippet of Osho, who speaks so slowly and deliberately. It seems to me that he distinguishes between a type of emotion that can overwhelm us, that is constructed and complicated with past events and worries of the future - and a pure emotion, that is only a response to the present, and can give a keep clarity to our being. As an asthmatic child, I was always told to control my emotions, but had no idea what that meant. After reviewing a great deal of info on emotion, I find Osho's take the simpliest and best, from my view. That isn't to say I don't get wisked away by emotion by time to time. I have found, thought, that unless I am being taken away by joy or love or one of the higher order emotions, I can let go of the rest more easily as time goes on.
I do know that emotion is essential to being. And how we process it often defines us. And I find it very interesting. Good to see you here again, Amanda.
