How do you explain abandoned new-born children left in orphanages
without love and care and their descent into an autistic state? Even
older children and adults can go numb with trauma depending on various
factors. Humans need someone to "grasp" towards- to spur their
development and engagement. Later on, I suppose a hermit or monk could
manage but would still need some foundation. The other extreme might
be lost individuality from religious or cultural over-kill.
