Classic Chris, odd this character was the second or third thing to come to mind when I read this. The first was pwnage, the kind where you sympathize with someone popping a wheelie to hop a curb and the front wheel rolls away, ohh memories! There are many reasons, and of note is the sinister side to laughter which can also be innocent and not necessarily borne of malice. So I've been watching our newborn developing his first twitches of a smile (or was it gas grins) and it turning into cooes and little squeaks when he recognized me today. Recognition of a familiar face today gave him pleasure, practicing his sounds and hearing us sound them back also does the trick. I think it interesting how the tribal and hunter instincts can guide children to become so terrible in cases, and I think it mostly has to do with what our society is geared toward and how the school systems accommodate their growth.
