For a person who is depressed enough to commit suicide, I think the
answer must be yes, as the action of sicide is counter to the insticts
for survival and self-defense.  So, it comes down to a 'frame-of-
mind'.  There are some frames of mind where counter-intuitive actions
are, unfortunately, indicated.  These are not healthy states, though.
