In Hinduism, one's true self is identical with one's transcendental self. This is Atman. Christians say the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Christ lives with in us. Most Native cultures seem to believe that the physical and spiritual worlds are interconnected.
Are we not "spirits in a material world" and physical bodies in which spirits live.
