Facilitation was all the rage in the management development game when I
could stomach taking fees from it. I'd first seen it in social work texts
where it meant 'brainwash the simple blighters into thinking they came up
with your solution'. We actually set out to write learning programmes in
which we accredited prior and other experiential learning - but we couldn't
find academics prepared 'not to teach it' and 'death by powerpoint' was
much cheaper and simplistic. I gave up eventually, though tried the
'theatre of the oppressed' ... think Gabby is a genuine practitioner of
similar (yoof version), but with that British reserve one doesn't pry.

Yep - one has to admire the Vatican's contribution to heavy metal.
Descartes, writing to a mate, said something in explanation of not
publishing his Le Monde (we might call this 'The Amazing Physics of Johnny
Fart-pants' now). It ran something like 'I can't risk it. Look what
theyve done to Galileo and imagine what they'd do to me, a Frenchman'. Not
new this stuff, is it.

I'd want to get the line 'Holy acorns Vatican Man' into my script. There's
a magic book 'Memoirs of a Gnostic Dwarf' - the guy's job is sorting out
the catamite Pope;s piles - that I used in Bahrain to explain Western
satire to a small group who let me party with them on their boat. These
guys had similar stories on he who must not be subject of pencil etching.
