“An external creator and his institutions may still be verbally confessed
at Church in formulas that linger by their mere inertia, but the life is
out of them, we avoid dwelling on them, the sincere heart of us is
elsewhere” .Those who know “that we inhabit an invisible spiritual
environment from which help comes, our souls being mysteriously one with a
larger soul whose instruments we are, may have it right that it is all
about saving experiences and intimacy with God, versus the theistic view of
humans being outsiders and mere subjects to God. Mostly from William James.

Does this meet your experience Allan? Not that I'm trying to salvage you -
we both have only residual scrap value less what it costs to carry us away
these days. It is more or less my feeling, discovered before I read about
such. I wonder a lot about this, though not in words. There is a touch of
salvation in kindness, possibly the thought we might be in the future, not
achievable now. I think we are here from somewhere else, frontierspeople
of some kind. We need to send home for our things, so to speak.
