Many years have passed since we've had discussions running the gamut of politics, religion and philosophy. I wonder if our outlooks have changed?
Probably not. My country is FINALLY out of the rut we've been in for 9 years and the economy is booming again. It's amazing what a few tax cuts and regulation relaxation can do. If our politicians can work together we might even get some meaningful immigration reform passed. Doubtful. Too busy measuring dicks. It's really embarrassing actually. Talk of "winning" when in fact, again, the American people have lost. Money, time, energy. Government waste and ineffectiveness on full display. Meanwhile the deficit continues to grow exponentially. I'm older and weaker. Eligible to retire next year. Starting to hate the drive with all the traffic. Seems everyone and their brother is moving to Houston and EVERYBODY is driving. Badly mostly. We got a ton of Harvey $ and our city council can't decide how best to spend it with our roads mostly potholed. Seems to be a high level of corruption there with councilmen fighting over who's sister-in-law's company gets the bid to make signs, build bike paths and playgrounds etc. It never ends. Venezuela is finally coming to pieces after tittering for a decade. Gee, if only someone could have told them confiscating private businesses and price controls never work. Sigh. So, who's not dead yet? Vam and Archy still around I see. Francis wished me happy birthday on Facebook last year but, since I fired the Zuck, I won't see it this year. Orn, Slip, Chris, all have gone to warmer waters it seems. I'll have some extra time next year.
