I do know if and when things will change on large scale. But recent Elan Musk's act is laudable, very hopeful. He uploaded all technologies he has developed and has a patent for. They are released in public domain in good faith, for anybody who wishes to employ it.
That is so unlike the dog in the manger, American style capitalism...the for-itself cubed entrepreneurship. Something much larger in scale has already happened in India's pharmaceutical sector.
