PS : It kind of reminds me of the corollary to First Law of Thermodynamics. A closed system that regains its thermodynamic state at start delivers Work equal to net energy put into it. You can see it happen in case of individual beings, humans in particular who happen to have the faculty to minimise the losses.
It also reminds me of Kumbh, the 12-yearly event, at which about 20 million people converge. This year at Prayagraj, a massive township was set up, immense amount of infrastructure was created, thousands were deployed... All of which will be undone shortly, as if it hadn't at all existed. Men will revert to their dreams, possessions and aspirations, and will gather again at the next event.
