The w64 is a very poorly named vendor key to specify all the stuff at mingw-w64.sf.net as opposed to the stuff at mingw.org. This is why we like to use the codename "Monika" for the project instead of "w64", since people see "64" and immediately thing "bit depth". Using -monika- as the vendor key doesn't work, though.
