Hello, Kai and Sysiphus:

Thanks very much for the replies.

I've downloaded and unzipped "mingw-w64-src_4.4.1-1.tar.bz2", but
I can not find "the top level bin folder" to add to my path. The unzip
process produced folders binutils, gcc, mingw, and src, and I can't see
a bin folder under any of those.

      What should I do next?

I've looked at the instructions for compiling the toolchain per
"https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/mingw-w64/wiki/Cross%20Win32%20and%20Win64%20compiler";,

but I suspect I'm missing some of the "Requirements", e.g., Bison, Flex,
gperf, Coreutils, Make, GMP 4.3.1 or newer, and MPFR 2.4.1 or newer.

Thanks for any further assistance you can offer.

      Best Wishes,
      Spencer Graves
