Could the compiler writes for personal builds and auto builds please redesign
the compilers so that the 64-bit compilers use different library names for
their
dll's than the 32-bit counterparts? you can't put them both into the same
directory and have it work.
one of the problems I am having, is that I write distributable, installable
windows programs, and since MOST everyone (but not everyone) has 64-bit
machines, I would like to include 32-bit and 64-bit versions of all my
executables, and make provisions for such in my installer.
which is what I have been doing in the past. until now.
libstdc++ has become an issue and so has libgcc.
my programs are dependent upon these DLLs. I have to include them. both the 64-
NSIS, the installer I use and am familiar with, is NOT smart about making
program shortcuts (no options there like default directory).
As a result, programs don't work unless all the files are shoved into the same
directory. this means you can't have 32-bit and 64-bit c++ executables in the
same directory that use c++0x/libstdc++, because you have to choose 1 set.
conflict.
Unless changes are made, I will be stuck with generating 32-bit-only
executables/distributables. So why have 64-bit compiler?
If it makes any difference, I have a 32-bit machine.
I am currently using the auto builds and sezero builds.
