Run the make check outside of MSYS; you'll need to execute the
mingw32-make binary to do the testing. The mingw32-make and MSYS do not
get along very well together; mainly due to the fact that mingw32-make
is modified to tend to windows anomalies such as \ as the path delimiter
and ; as the path list delimiter among other things.

You may also find that you need to modify the test base results files so
that they contain Windows line endings of \r\n instead of \n to get the
test to pass.
