Yes, c++11 is the new standard.  It's what you get "experimental"
support for in recent version of gcc (including 4.7.0) if you compile
using "g++ -std=c++0x".

(c++0x was the previous name for the new standard before they
knew for sure when it would be approved.  But now that the new
standard is official, it's c++11.)
