Take a look at GNUWin32
<http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages.html>they have a lot of the
programs you'd want, for use with cmd. The shell
remains the same old non-functional cruft, but you get ls, file, find,
etc... Just remember GNU find is not Windows find, and some stuff might
expect the Windows version.
