By the way, the binutils tarbals which are number with 5 numbers:
a.b.c.d.e MUST NOT be used for mingw*.

These are changes over the corresponding binutils release (i.e. version
a.b.c) for Linux. They're (currently) maintained by a RedHat employee
and the focus is really only Linux: they break other targets.
