Hi,

Trying to get Pymol 2.4.0.0a working with mixed results:

mingw32:
  Qt does not load
Tk version works (but has same mouse scroll button glitch as was seen with 2.2.0.0)
mingw64
  Qt does not load
Tk version is broken. In this mode of Pymol two windows open - the smaller (top) one works but the larger window, where the molecule and some menus appear, is solid black.

For a positive control installed on a 32 bit W7 machine C. Gohlke's version

   https://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/

and found that it will start up and use Qt as it should. (It has the same mouse scroll button glitch in Tk mode.) Comparing the two builds (his is from Visual Studio) found that his has files like:

/Lib/site-packages/PyQt5/Qt/plugins/platforms/qoffscreen.dll

Conversely, the mingw32/64 version does not have the Qt subdirectory. Renaming the Qt subdirectory causes the Gohlke version to not load Qt properly, which is what happens now with my mingw64 version. So apparently something in there is needed for Pymol to work properly.

Is there a pacman package which supplies that Qt subdirectory? I loaded this:

  pacman -S --needed --noconfirm $ARCH-python3-pyqt5 #new for 2.4.0

but apparently it is not sufficient.

Thanks,
