There's also another solution to this. You can set the environment variables MINGW32_CONFIGURE_ARGS and MINGW64_CONFIGURE_ARGS. With this you end up with something like this: %build export MINGW32_CONFIGURE_ARGS="--with-ffmpeg-extra-configure='--disable-pthreads --enable-w32threads --disable-muxer=matroska --disable-demuxer=matroska'" export MINGW64_CONFIGURE_ARGS="--with-ffmpeg-extra-configure='--disable-pthreads --enable-w32threads --disable-muxer=matroska --disable-demuxer=matroska'" %mingw_configure "--enable-shared" "--disable-static" It's not really that much more readable but it's just another method to achieve the same goal. It's strange anyway that you have to supply extra ffmpeg configure arguments wrapped inside a configure argument. Go ahead with adding this package to the svn.
