Hallo all,

i'am want to install a nemo-0.2 testbed.
So, I downloaded a 2.6.15 kernel from kernle.org, patched it and installed the
userspace tool. There were no problems. But when I configured the Interfaces,
I realized that my pci-network-card don't work.
The global IP-address which I gave to the Interface is always in the tentative
mode. That is the mode during the DAD. So I can't use the Interface because
it only listen on Neighbour Advertisments.
Disable the DAD with set /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/eth0/dad_transmits to "0"
wasent helpful.
With the old Kernel 2.6.12 and the same Config-files IPv6 works fine.
Also a compiled Kernel without the NEMO-patch works.

And the best is, I have tryed a Knoppix 5.0 DVD with a Knoppix-Kernel 2.6.15
work with IPv6, and the same Bug appears.
So is the kernel wrong?

Here some facts to show you my configuration:
the Bug appears on:
Knoppix 4.0.2 original Kernel 2.6.12
                                gcc 3.3.6
                                make 3.8.0
Kanonix 2005-4 original Kernel 2.6.14
                                gcc 4.0.3
                                make 3.8.1
SuSE 9.2 original Kernel 2.6.8
                                gcc 3.3.4
                                make 3.8.0
                               ( Ethernet on-Board:
                                         -Broad Coroperation
                                          NetXtreme BCM 5788
                                          Gigabit WORKS fine
                                Ethernet pci
                                        - 3COM 3c905C
                                          DON'T works)
Knoppix 5.0 original Kernel 2.6.15 !!
kernel from the DVD don't works

In some cases the on-board interfaces works but not complete without problems.
The Addresses of the PCI-Interfaces are always in the tentative mode.

The older original kernels works with the same config-files.

I don't no where are my mistake.
Can you help me and tell me the kernel you have take. Maybe a 2.6.15.x?
Or is there a other mistake?
I think it is not a NEMO - specific problem, it must be a IPv6-problem.

On the same Hardware with the Knoppix 4.0.2 and the SuSE 9.2, I had installed
MIPv6-2.0-rc3 witout problems, patching a kernel 2.6.11.1.

Thank you for help me,

regards Sebastian
