Hello,
I probably answered to this earlier today, in another mail.. But
anyway. The HOWTO is written by Lars Strand. I contacted him in
November, asking whether he would have time to update it. He told he
was currently busy (with real work), but was hoping to update it in time
for 2.0 release. Obviously he hasn't had time. You can mail him
directly, and if anyone has too much time on his/her hands, offer him
help :)
I may be able to help him on this task.
In fact, I've already started to work on an updated version of the
HOWTO a few weeks ago. But, I haven't had time to finish it. I wanted
to have a draft ready before contacting Lars Strand.
As many people seem interested, I'll try to finish what I've begun and
contact Lars.
