By definition MIP does not work in a MANET. However, a MANET routing protocol may work together with MIP. > I've two MANET networks: > > - A: 2010:3:505:1::/64 > - B: 2010:3:506:12::/64 > > At the present time, a A-node can join a B-node if the 2 MANET networks are > relatively close without changing IPv6 addresses. > > What about the mobility in such a context? If node B has address from the B-prefix and default router from that network, it will not talk to node A directly nor will node A. > How does B-node know it has changed of network (it can contact the A network > but > not the B one) and then, gets a CoA and register it ? How does the MANET protocol work you are using? Basically, MIPv6 detects movement by receiving router advertisements. If your node A would be sending RAs, node B would configure a new address from A-prefix. > Is this case supported by MIP implementation? No. MIP does not work in a MANET as such. The MANET routing protocol has a way of detecting movement. The routing protocol could tell MIP when it has to change address, and MIP could ask the routing protocol for a route to the HA, so it could register with it. You should read Global Connectivity for IPv6 Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-wakikawa-manet-globalv6-05.txt Regards, Antti _______________________________________________ mipl mailing list [email protected] http://www.mobile-ipv6.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mipl
