I've never seen this behaviour on my testbed.
What do you mean when you say "the radvd daemon freezes"?
You mean the process is still running but it doesn't send any RA, or
the radvd process dies.
Is there any interesting radvd logs produced when this happens?
(default log location is /var/log/radvd.log)
