Hi!

I'm testing NEPL with Fedora 5 (Kernel 2.6.15 with NEPL v0.2 patch).
I have a problem while trying to contact (ping6) a correspondent node from the
mobile node in the mobile network when the MR is directly attached to the Home
Link.
On the foreign link the routing and the forwarding via the tunnel work properly.

While at home, the MR has a well auto-configured IP-@ from the Router
Advertisements and also a default route via the HA in the IPv6 routing table
but, it seems to use it only when a message (ping) comes from the MR itself. On
the other hand, when a mobile node tries to contact a CN, it receives an ICMPv6
Route Unreachable message from the Home-@ of the MR.

The problem is the same when the ping comes from the CN: it arrives to the
mobile node (i.e. it is forwarded correctly by the MR) but the reply of the
mobile node is not forwarded by the MR. It seems not to be able to forward it
to the home link interface as it sends an ICMPv6 Route Unreachable message.

(All verified with Ethereal)

I've read a mail on the Nautilus ML ("CN cannot reach MN", dated March 22nd,
06), reporting the same problem and the HOWTO version 1.7 (30 June 2006) refers
also to problems of the MR when in Home Network.

I'm using the following network topology:

                        MNN
                         |      Mobile Network [3ffe:0:a:d28::/64]

                                        MR
                                                | :e::

|                                                       |
|                                                       |
|                                                       |
+ :b::  LAN3[3ffe:0:a:d03::/64]         + :c::
HA +-----------------------------------+        R
+ :b::                                                  + :c::
|                                                       |
|                          :d::    :d::         |
------------------------+ CN +------------
LAN1[3ffe:0:a:d01::/64]                         LAN2[3ffe:0:a:d02::/64]

The routing table of the HA contains a static entry to the Mobile Network via
the LL-@ of the MR.

Is there any solution or suggestion to solve the problem?

Thanks a lot.
