I am working with a free software virtualization tool called VNUML and I have set up an scenario of IPv6 Mobile.
When the Mobile Node is at the home network everything is fine (ping and traceroute works). Then I move the MN to a foreign network (the same network that the CN). Ping6 works with route optimization, but when I make traceroute6 packets are lost until at the end it works, but without doing route optimization.
Next traceroute6 works, but still without route optimization. If I make ping6 again, route optimization is recovered, but when I make traceroute6 all the process starts again (the route optimization is lost).
I have seen the capture with Ethereal. The traceroute packets that doesn't work have for destination address the MN's care of address. The home address replies with "Time exceeded (In-transit)". At the end (due to unreachability) the CN changes the destination address for the MN's home address, and then the traceroute works but without route optimization.
Does anybody have an idea?
