I realize it's this JZ SoC thing, but is there a chance that the
wifi hardware is supported by hostap or even the kernel wifi stack?
Or is it strictly the upstream vendor's driver that works?

Alternatively, I guess you're stuck with trying to profile their
code; I've flashed mine so many times I lost track of the original
Alpha kernel, so when you get a working setup, I'll be happy to
help optimize the wifi stuff if necessary.

Might be nice to try the Eclipse embedded support. ;)
