Hi,
Herewith some of my experience with the kernel 2.6 softfloat version posted by
Nils.
I extract the zip file and use the first uImage to boot my SD stick with debian
chroot.
The second uImage in angstrom.tzr.gz file /data/ I use to boot from /dev/nand.
I installed the angstrom on my trendtac epc700 /dev/nand (by the installer).
This has some faster gpe applications as lenny and is smaller too.
Some comments to the angstrom files:
- To get somethings working with usb and mouse I modprobed all modules
available in /lib/modules/2.6.24.3/kernel
- The autorepeat key (if press key) doesn't seems to work, if you keep a key
pressed the lcd becomes dark and locks.
Some comments to the kernel2.6 uImage:
- shutdown -h now (powerdown) is not working, it restarts instead of powerdown.
- would be nice to add a lcd brightness control like in the kernel of the week.
- the buttons next to the touchpad are not usable yet.
- my own compiled modules from kernel 2.6 stuff from ingenic doesn't work on
this kernel.
Nevertheless this uImage is very nice for trying new stuff on the epc700 a-like
minibook.
I have upgraded debian chroot to lenny and this works ok.
The mipsandroid also seems to be able to chroot too, only have a console the
GUI is not working yet, I think I miss some /bin files.
Questions:
Can anyone share .config files/patches for the kernel 2.6, which could work on
the softfloat version from Nils ?
Does anyone know how to get the mipsandroid gui to work ?
Grt Ruben.
