Hi all,
after some recent discussions about the rootfs,
I wonder which kernels our users have to choose from.

I currently know about these:

a) 2.6.24.3

in two flavours:

a.1) http://projects.kwaak.net/twiki/bin/view/Epc700/KernelPort26Compiling
a.2) http://projects.goldelico.com/p/letux-400/

I currently can't tell in which functions they differ.

b) 2.6.31.3

http://projects.kwaak.net/twiki/bin/view/Epc700/KernelPort26Compiling

c) 2.6.38 (?)

I have seen that there is a arch/mips/jz4740 subdirectoy in the kernel.org
2.6.38 (it may have appeared earlier). It appears to have been mainlined by our
friends from Qi / Ben Nanonote.

So does anyone of you know about other activities on the mainline kernels?

If not, what would we need to start developing it?

I ask because the "wonderpatch" might help a desktop environment in heavy load
situations and the Ingenic CPUs are usually under such a "heavy load"... And
some
new drivers are also interesting.

BR,
Nikolaus
