Hi,

I have decided to try and make my Trendtac 700 into a small Linux mediaserver.
For some reason I also decided to try and get Lenny on to it at least,
but because I wanted to have it on the device instead of on a sd card,
I went this route:

1. install the rescue image from this url:
http://download.goldelico.com/letux-400/etch/Recovery_DebianEtchX11v4.img
2. I then started dist upgrading that to Lenny, to discover that Lenny
needs a 2.6 kernel (ofcourse)
3. Then I downloaded the latest kernel
(http://projects.kwaak.net/twiki/pub/Epc700/KernelPort26Compiling/uImage2.6.31.3RV112),
and put it on a sd card.
4. As this booted my Lenny just fine, I decided to try and install the
kernel for real, pressing f1+fn+left shift during boot.

As you may have guessed, this let to a screen washing out in various
colours when attempting to boot normally now. Booting from SD card
still works fine.

Now my question is, how do I solve this if at all? Worst case, can I
somehow make the system boot from an SD card, or a usb stick for that
matter, by default?

cheers,

Maarten
