Hi all,

Further to my last email, here is the next mock-up that has been produced by
Daryl regarding the dialogs linked to in the Workplace Options box.

The Manage Utilities dialog will allow the Project Manager to enable or disable
Utilities in the Workplace. It will also show some information about the
Utility (such as its author, version number, release date, description, etc.)
and provide some settings which can be configured accordingly.

I am not sure if we intend this dialog to be functional in version 0.2, but if
it is going to be then it certainly will not be restricted to the Project
Manager: until the Roles system is implemented, every Member of a Workplace
will have access to this dialog.

As you will see in the mock-up, the dialog consists of a title followed by two
columns. The column on the left displays the list of Utilities that are
installed on the Server; the Summary Utility would be selected by default when
the dialog were opened (the Files Utility is selected in the mock-up in order
to illustrate all of the dialog's proposed features). The column on the right
displays the name of the Utility, a superimposed button allowing the Project
Manager to either Enable or Disable the Utility, some information about the
Utility and, finally, some settings which pertain to it and which can be
configured by the Project Manager.

I find the design to be aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate, although I
do note the lack of scroll bars which would be essential in each column if the
fields ran longer than the height of the dialog window. I also hesitate to
point out that replicating this design perfectly would take a magnificent feat
of Qt hacking to an unfair degree, so consider it purely a guideline, not a
target! :)

What are your thoughts on the design for this dialog?

Regards,

Max Bossino
