Hi all, Alan and I met for a short chat on IRC today, and we raised several feature requests and bugs which have now been appropriately filed. I might post a transcript of the meeting up in the future, but I thought it easier to summarize the key points:
Feature Requests (login-system) These feature requests all correspond to Alan's login-system branch, so they have been listed accordingly on the Outstanding Targets page for Mira Groupware version 0.2: http://miragroupware.org/wiki/doku.php/development/roadmap/outstanding (1) It would be useful to have pop-up alerts for connection errors: 'Bad Credentials', 'Connection Refused', etc. (Alerts in the status bar are not very obvious.) (2) When no Workplace is selected, the Workplace Options box is still displayed (which is not relevant to what the user sees on-screen). It would be preferable to remove the Workplace Options box when no Workplace is selected. (3) Instead of having a 'Leave Workplace' button in Workplace Options box, this could be moved to the 'Actions' menu where the other Workplace actions currently reside. (4) We could also group those Workplace actions in the 'Actions' menu as follows: *Actions menu* Workplaces… > Create Workplace Join Workplace Leave Workplace (5) Allow users to Disconnect from the current Server and return to the Accounts Manager. Bugs (login-system) These bugs correspond to Alan's login-system branch: (1) It is currently not possible to use the New User action after trying to 'Connect' an account. This has been filed on Launchpad as bug #688792. (2) A Segmentation fault occurs when trying to upload a file in a Workplace's Files Utility while in 'Work offline' mode. Alan has fixed this bug, but has not yet pushed the change to his branch. Bugs (universal) These bugs correspond to all branches: (1) Clicking on the tabs in the Workplace pane to change Utility does not update the selection in the Navigation pane. This has been filed on Launchpad as bug #688774. (2) Upload/download problem in the Files Utility. I experienced this on builds of both the trunk and login-system branches today, but since I reported it I have been unable to replicate it.
