Miroslav, everybody,

Listen up folks!

This is it, I hadn't realised so clear an article had
been written. Mackinder's Geopolitics theory forms the
basis of US. foreign policy and the theories of the
Council on Foreign Relations activists since before
WWII and from around 1937.

The first line of MacKinder's mantra is;-

"He who controls East Europe controls the
Heartland..."

But MacKinder "did not act alone", he was the pet Guru
of the "Liberal-Imperialists", lead by Lord Rosebury.
The position of the British Empire and Britain's role
as the Dominant Power, (sound familiar) was under
threat and the economy was actually in decline.

This was because Britain's position as the supreme Sea
Power and its fleet was now threatened.

Everything is based on Sea Power, as the battleship
was the supreme weapon of the period.
MacKinder and his L-I patrons claimed the land power
of the World Island could threaten the Sea Powers, the
US. being recruited into this.

This reflects the intense fear of Russia, and the
possibility of them building a large fleet, which was
planned.

But it was also seen as a threat economically and
politically.
A single world-empire was about to come into
existence, it was believed, so a world view and some
action was essential.

A real effort was made to recruit the US. as a
partner, going to them first as "Splendid isolation"
was abandoned,
more later,
