I think this is the same as unsetting / not exporting
SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING in the soiffice script. With locking working
properly now, there is no need for it anymaore. Thanks.

Newbie here! I recently started using OpenBSD, primarily as a central
file server. So far, I am very pleased with it!
The problem I am encountering is that when I mount files on a Linux
system via NFS and then open them with LibreOffice, LibreOffice
hangs. This is likely related to the locking of the target file and
seems to be a known issue. A proposed solution is to start LibreOffice
without file locking (SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING), but that seems more like
a workaround than a solution to the actual problem.
I have this in my notes from what sounds like the same problem:
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Button: Open Expert Configuration
Type UseLocking into the search bar and press ENTER or click button: Search
Double click the entry org.openoffice.Office.Common\Misc: UseLocking so its
Value turns to false.
