Are there (dis)advantages of UEFI over BIOS on an installation?
I do not know of any, but I stick with BIOS because I personally find it easier. FWIW, I do not dual boot.
I need the computer only for desktop with OpenBSD, no 24h server. By the way, are there restriction on the size of root / its position in the HDD?
I do not know, but I would stick with the recommendations the install proposes. With that said, if I have a Large Disk, I may increase the size of /, /usr and /usr/local. But that depends upon the size recommended during install. Note, IIRC, an upgrade need about 1.5G free on /usr. So be aware of that, right now my /usr uses about 1.7G.
Are there recommendations?
I would review the FAQ: https://www.openbsd.org/faq/ When I first installed OpenBSD I read the Installation Guide Portion a few times just to be sure I would not be surprised. My first install went fine without any issues because knew what to expect.
Thanks Rod.
