I'm afraid your only real option given the constraints stated is to use one of those single-port KVM-over-IP devices. They can be quite expensive, however; likely more than your hardware is worth. You may be better off ditching the second NIC for an RS232 card as mentioned earlier and use a different, dedicated device for network routing. I question why you would want to run your network core on a device that is known to kernel panic regularly. An EdgeRouter Lite can be had on eBay for $30, has 3 NICs, is fanless, and can run OpenBSD.
