I hope you mean dhclient(8) and not dhcpd(8). The latter probably won't help you much. The output of dhclient should tell you whether you have (or get) a valid lease. If your ISP's DNS were broken, that problem is likely to survive your reboot. Your best bet is to start with the basics first.
