Hello,

Is it possible to control the speed at which the fans are running on OpenBSD?

I know that my motherboard has the chip that allows for such control
(the settings are available in BIOS, but the options in BIOS are too
limited, in fact it's just Enabled/Disabled, so not much choice). I
also know that programmes that allow such control exist in win32
(<URL:http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php>), but I don't run win32 on
my servers. :-)

I know that OpenBSD has sensorsd(8), but AFAIK, it is only intended
for monitoring purposes.

Here is a part of dmesg from my ASUS Terminator C3 OpenBSD box:

lm0 at isa0 port 0x290/8: W83627THF

And my other box, AOpen AX4G-N, has W83627HF chip.

If anyone has any information about open-source software that allows
for such control, please share it. :-)

P.S. As far as I know, the aforementioned chips are 'free', i.e. with
all documentation from Winbond. ;-)

Cheers,
Constantine.
