I use an older SuperMicro server myself for running Debian, and it runs fine, but when you get one with the wrong disk controller(s) in it, you're probably SOL: http://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/faq.cfm?faq=3003 [demime 1.01d removed an attachment of type application/pgp-signature]
