All,

Thanks to the generosity of the OpenBSD community, enough pledges have
come in to take care of replacing the 1U 833mhz alpha build machine!

After coordinating with several people including Theo and other
important guiding people behind OBSD, it looks like we're going to
begin by purchasing the replacement machine, which I've already
initiated with the vendor.

As this money is coming out of my pocket right now, I'm counting on
you who've expressed confidence in the project (and in me in putting
this together) to generously step up and quickly follow-through on
your pledges.

Every single penny raised will go to cover the cost of the machine and
shipping. (And any fees PayPal automatically dings us with, of
course.) **ALL** additional funding that might come in will go
directly to the project with the intent of using those funds first and
foremost for repairing the current machine. You can count on that.

That said, I've sent everyone who has pledged to make a donation my
PayPal address. If I've missed you or if you'd like to make a
donation, there's still time. Email me offlist for my PayPal address.

If you would like to make a donation directly to the project, please
do so here:
http://www.openbsd.com/donations.html

and please be sure to say that the donation you're making is for the
alpha server.

Lastly, PLEASE make an effort to get your donations in to me by 4pm
PST July 18th.

Again, a heartfelt thanks to all who've contributed and all who are
about to do so. It was very exciting to see the call go out and us
come together so quickly to take care of the problem. Well done, all.

Best,
Kevin Smith
