Hello, The KPN-UMTS network in the Netherlands is using the Novatel Wireless, Merlin UMTS Modem, NRM6831 (vendor 0xa4 - IBM's?, product 0x1aaf) for its UTMS connectivity.
For the past day I have been trying to get this pcmcia-card to work on OpenBSD 3.6, but have been only partly succesful. The card - used in a Soekris 4511 - is being detected properly. OpenBSD reports 2 ns16550a. During the detecting and after detection a red led blinks continuesly. This seems ok as it does the same thing using a Windows box, although it stops after a while on that box. If I try to access one of both ports by using "cu -l /dev/tty02 -s 115200" it box stops responding completely and a reboot is necessary. The same happens when accessing the other port. Of course I am willing to experiment with it, although I am not the most talented programmer :-) Detection data is pasted underneath.
